H.H. Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior and Vice Chairman of the Emirates Identity Authority received the Honorary Doctorate in Social Sciences, on security and its role in civilizational development, from the University of Wolverhampton in Britain in recognition of his efforts in the field of security and civilizational development. The degree was awarded during a celebration organized by Abu Dhabi Police G.H.Q on this occasion.
During his speech, he stressed that it is our supreme leadership represented in H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, may Allah protect him; H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashed Al-Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai; and H.H. General Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces who deserve this award due to their continuous support to this journey of well-being, giving and development throughout the country.
He considered this award as being awarded to all of us, emphasizing that no individual effort may achieve success without joining forces for carrying out any achievement. This is the educational method implanted in ourselves by our father, the late H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah forgive him.
"We, the UAE's nationals, have learned from our leader a lot of ways for success in life including hard work in order to attain our target. We learned from "Zayed" that if we are going to ask somebody to do something, with greater reason we should do the same by ourselves before we ask others to follow suit", he added.
He concluded saying "the accomplishments achieved in the field of police work such as the experience of community police, tourism police, social support centers, rehabilitation centers for persons with disabilities, etc. would not succeed were it not for the shrewd thought of our late father, H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah forgive him, as well as the support of our supreme leadership which is always keen to improve the level of security and safety throughout the country".
It is noteworthy that H.H. Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan is deemed one of the pioneers of change and development in the field of police work. His marks are pretty clear through the accomplishments achieved throughout the last years.
He is an open-minded person with enlightened thought. He believes in the comprehensive role of police work emphasizing, at the same time, on the importance of developing it and moving it from just being a tool for seizure and law enforcement to be a protective tool through real community partnership that monitors the reality of security and stability and participates in enhancing and improving police institutions as advanced institutions seeking to attain the trust and satisfaction of the public through all possible means.
